Project ReStyle-- Week One

I'm doing THIS.  I have read her blog for years and I love it!  She has amazing style and a great personality!  She is such an inspiration too.
For week one I used a broken chain that I thrifted and turned it into a pretty necklace that took about 5 minutes to make. All you need is some ribbon and a flower embellishment.

If your looking for a fun weekly project for the year you should join too!  It''s not too late :)

Introducing....

Meet Bumble Bee. I am overjoyed with this little hat!  I just finished it last night and had to get it in the shop today.  It has pose-able pipe cleaner antenna!
I also made this cutie and decided to have my baby model it.
I got the shot... but the battle for it was tough.
We had to endure this......
and a ton of this......
P.S. DON'T TELL DADDY!!
It's hard for me to say who won the headband battle but I am gonna have to go with the headband.  I think I got a pretty sweet picture after all the trouble ha ha :)

OOAK Hats Are Here!

Wow, I am kind of amazed that I am actually on track with my goal so far :)
Aren't they so cute!?  I am crazy about the cute orange yarn on #2 and the new design I came up with for #1.  I will list them later today in my shop.
Hope you like the sneak peak.
There's lots more to come and I am so excited to share!

Let It Snow DIY

Here in Wyo it has been FREEZING and snowing more than usual.  I keep telling my hubby how *magical* it looks outside and he just rolls his eyes at me... guess it's not so *magical* when you work outside in it all day!  Still, I wanted to bring some of that prettiness inside.
Our Christmas decor has been down for a few days now and the house seems so empty... not quite sure how to decorate for January... cant wait for February and V-Day tho!
I came up with this "Snowflake" hanging to add some OOMPH!
Here are the supplies I used.  I got the silver foil doilies at Walmart for 50 cents and glued two together so they were shiny on both sides. I also used two sizes of pom pom makers. to create pretty, puffy snowballs.
Pssst.... My husband got me a new pom pom maker for Christmas because he said mine was super old and falling apart (he actually stepped foot in a craft store all by himself.. awe).  I love my new tools :)
Putting it all together was simple.  Just tie some fishing line to each pom pom and doily then hang from something.  I was also thinking you could thread a needle with the line and join all your "snowflakes" together like a banner and hang that.  Sounds super cute to me :)
 Have a happy day!!

A Sweet Goal For 2011

This year I thought of a cool little idea for my Etsy shop.  I have bunches of bags, boxes and baskets full of un-touched yarn.  Most of the yarn is different, I only have a skein or two of each. That means I can only make one or two hats from each kind of yarn.  I really, REALLY want to use up my humongous stash of yarn so I am planning on making
100 One Of A Kind Hats in 2011.

Each of the hats will be different and unique.  I will only make ONE of each so it will truly be a OOAK (one of a kind).  No duplicates!  I did the math and I am going to have to bust out about 10 hats a month.  They will all be named and numbered.  I will take photos of each hat and list them for sale in my Etsy shop.  This will be a great opportunity for me to really get my creativity going and come up with some new designs and ideas!   I did hats like this all the time when I first started and I loved it.  I got a little head start this morning :) Can't wait to share! Happy New Years!

Twelve Months of Moments in 2010

Goodbye to 2010.  Here are some memories my family will never forget.
January- We made West a silly hat and celebrated his half birthday.

February-  We got Ryker a new bed set and decorated the whole room with robots.

March-  I taught Ryker how to use my Cannon Rebel camera (photo by him).

April-  We went to the COLDEST Easter Egg Hunt ever.  I wore high heels because I am an idiot and I will never forget how bad my feet STUNG when the hunt was over and we were trying to warm up in the car.

May-  Welcomed my 8th niece Miss Adalee into the world.  I got to hold her shortly after she was born and felt so special :)

June-  Began a diaper changing war with West that is still going on today.  If you can't make out the photo, those are my legs holding him down.  I have to sit on the kiddo... he is very strong.

July-  We turned the house into "Winner Ranch" and had a cowboy party for West.  I love these homemade mustaches.

August-  We took a quick trip to Thermopolis, Wyoming.  We Went to a dinosaur museum, swam in the hot springs, Ryker went off the high dive, and I gambled for the first time in my life. It was a blast!

September-  Went hunting for deer all day long.  We woke up at 3am and spent the entire day searching.  Just before dark and after we decided to call it quits we spotted our deer!

October-  Reunited with my little brother after 2 long years.  He came home from a church mission in Germany.

November-  I kicked butt swam at the Roy High Alumni Swim Meet.  And oh yeah baby... I've still got it!

December-  We had ourselves a merry little Christmas :)

It Was Very Merry & Bright....

I know this is a little late but here is our Christmas details

We decorated... inside and out this year.  We got a real tree this year (my first real one ever).  It was beautiful and I already miss it.

We baked goodies for Santa... and ourselves :)

We talked about Jesus.

Ryker made a gingerbread house and West helped him destroy it.

We drank the yummiest coffee ever!!

We opened LOTS of presents.

We played with LOTS of presents.
To say the least it was very merry and bright :)
I hope yours was too! xo
