Our Mario Bros Gang

Can you tell I like "matchy matchy" costumes :)
This is what me and the boys are dressing up as this year.
MARIO, LUIGI and PRINCESS PEACH!
The outfits were super easy to put together thanks to the Savers thrift store :)
All the little details were made using felt and fleece then hot glued on. Can't get better than that right!?

I am excited to blog hop and see what everyone else is wearing this year!  Maybe get an idea for next Halloween.

Bits of our Spookiness!

BEWARE picture overload!
Here is a glimpse inside our home :)  It is a work in progress right now so nothing too spectacular to show off.  For example in this first photo I had to edit a light bulb hanging from the ceiling out. Ha!

I have this great wall between the family room and the dining room perfect for displaying things. For Christmas I am thinking of packing it full of nutcracker dudes!

My wreath is falling apart... there is so much hot glue holding it together.

I love my pillow pumpkins from last year.  I wish I could remember what the blog link was where I saw the tutorial.  They were so quick and easy.  I made 5 sets for my family!

Oooo quite possibly my favorite thing.  My rag rug.  I found this baby at Ross for $10.  LOVE!

Halloween decoration is not complete without a web and window clings......

Hope you enjoyed the lil' tour :)

A thriftin' I will go!

With my oldest in school I have been making a superb habit of hitting at least one thrift store per week.  It is something I really look forward too.  My "look for" lists are endless and I spend FOREVER sifting through junk to find a treasure.  It is always fun when I get home and start opening bags... sometimes i forget what I bought and I get all excited again =)
LOVE THRIFTING!
YAY! A boy tent thingy!  I got one of these for my sister's girls a year ago and was so giddy when I saw this in boy colors.  I think it would be great in the corner of a playroom or bedroom.  It is so whimsical right!?

OH MY wire baskets.  I have a slight obsession with them.  Most of mine are stacked in a closet.  One day I will use them to organize my craft room.  Hopefully sooner rather than later.

This is a mini suitcase.  It is tiny and perfect for small toy storage.

I see potential here.  I am going to give it a face lift and hang it in my bedroom.  I couldn't resist the pretty edges.  It will be so cute painted instead of the gold.  I will share pics when this project is completed.  Seriously though, don't hold your breath.
Hope you enjoyed my thrift store junk tour!
Hugs!

Painted Pumpkins

FINALLY crossing this project off the list!

What do you think?  I think they have the creepy thing down ha ha.
The only question now is where to put them.  Here they are on top of a bookshelf.  It works for now.

One of these days I will have to show the rest of my Halloween decorations.  I am loving the fall time theme!  So fun :) I don't want this season to end.
Will I ever get sick of the smell of  my pumpkin spice candle?  I think not!

Thrifty Finds---

Sorry for the lame posts this week!  I feel so boring in such a cute world :)
This turtle I found at the thrift store is pretty darn adorable right??!  He makes a great addition to my bed of dirt ha.  I didn't find much at the thrift store last week.  I guess that is good on the wallet.

I did find a pretty Pyrex bowl. Looks like I am starting a new collection :)  I also scored 5 of those cute plates and another vintage sheet.
Today I am in the process of making and finishing about 20 hats-- YIKES! I better get back to work.  Have a lovely day!

Old School Pumpkin Project

My mom gave me these a few days ago.  I plan to paint them with an old fashioned faces.  I am not a painter so we will see how they turn out :)  I've been browsing around finding some inspiration.
Here is what I am thinking....

Ok so some of those are a little creepy looking but you get the idea.  They will make the cutest Halloween decor if I can do the paint job right.  Cross your fingers for me!
I need to go come up with a birthday present for my niece now.. eek!

Down at the HOO HOO tracks

West LOVES trains.  For his two year old photos I decided to take him to some vacant tracks and snap a few, OK more like 100, photos.  I limited my sharing here, believe me there are a ton more.  It was so hard to pick a few.  He is such a sweet boy :)
I can't wait to get these babies in some frames and up on the wall!
Happy Thursday!

If I could eat yarn for breakfast.......

If I could eat yarn for breakfast this is what I would be having... YUMMY!
Oh my mint how I LOVE you...

with a side of this... reminds me of neapolitan ice cream.  Mmmm vanilla, strawberry and chocolate.

This one is a little odd ball compared to the rest but I have big plans for it.  It is going to be awesome!

While I am on a food binge why not share a sneak peak.........
Anyone care for a wormy apple??
Eeeeekkkk!!! Huge thank you to Lisa Slate.  She is the light bulb behind this sweetie.  I can't wait to see the hat on one of her models :)
