Thrifty FInds

Here are a few treasures I picked out this week :)
Two word-- vintage sheets!!  I am adding these to my growing collection.. it is getting BIG!

I really loved this little cup and it has the perfect fall colors on it.

Pretty great green shirt that had polka dots.  If you know me I go gaga for anything polka dotted.

Cute little dish.  I have started to collect these for my kitchen wall!  I as SO excited to find more and hang them up.
I'm not really a birdhouse person but this one looked so darling... if I were a bird I would live in this ha ha.
Have a happy Sunday.  I am off to dinner with the family
..... hope you all aren't thinking  "man she bought a bunch of junk" :)

Fresh From the Patch

West and I got to visit a pumpkin patch with my sister the other day. I have never been to one with so many activities to do! They had corn mazes, hayrides, slides, animals, a corn box (just like a sandbox only with corn!) and tons more. They even took us out to the pumpkin patch and let us pick our own pumpkins right of the vine! It was crazy. We were so worn out after a couple hours. I am thinking we will probably have to go back with my older boy too :)

Have you seen this cutie fresh from my patch???
This little pumpkin can be found HERE.
I am making a bunch today so they can be ready to ship for plenty of Halloween wear :)

I am not dead!

Hello again!! No, I haven’t fallen off of the face of the earth but it almost seems like that hu!?
Summer has sure kicked my butt and there hasn’t been much extra time to blog. I haven’t even logged on to blogger in who knows how long to keep up with my favorite blogs. I am sad at how much cuteness I have probably missed. I just know whenever I get to clickin’ away in blog world it is hard to stop so I just avoided it altogether. I hope I keep this little blog updated from now on! FINGERS CROSSED!
I also seem to have been bit by the facebook bug. I LOVE bitOwhimsy’s fanpage! I have met such wonderful ladies! It is such a fun way to interact with my clients. I hope you join us if you haven't yet :)  Plus ther are some AMAZING giveaways there.  They are usually HUGE!

I have been crazy BUSY!! Especially with hat orders and all that is involved with that. I tried to look for a few recent photos to share and I guess I have been slacking in that department too. I found a few to show you a bit of what I have been up too------

I have traveled to Florida. It was SO much fun there. I will definitely show more on this soon.

I sent my baby off to Kindergarten. On the third day of school he asked “Mom, how many more days do I have to do this?” Ha ha!! Poor little guy, the all day school was a little hard to get the hang of. He is loving it now.

I fed my youngest guy to a T-Rex because he is 2 and he's terrible. Just kidding he is really the cutest dang thing you ever did see.  He melts my heart everyday.
I designed a new line of fall hats….. AND Christmas ones TOO!! I am saving those for later :)
I hope you all had a memory filled summer as well. I think I am going to break out the Halloween décor today…. Well, after I mow the lawn… ick.

Gone Fishin' {Birthday Party}

I love, love loved this theme!  There were sooo many possibilities, I totally had to limit myself.  The plan was to have the party outside but due to wind and a little bit of rain we moved it inside.  I was so angry because right after the party started the weather was beautiful outside grrr
Here are the sweet details...
(imagine how awesome this would have all looked in the backyard grrr)
The decor!
I took a trip to a couple thrift stores and scored most of the fishy decor there.  The green and blue fish I had to painted with good ole' acrylic paint to blend in better.  For the table tops I used pieces of flannel fabric.  In the centers of the tables I placed a jar or two that contained pebbles and real goldfish.  The little fishys were probably my favorite detail.  I wanted to put cattail stems in the jars as well but I couldn't find any outside before the party.  I made a cute "stringer" with cut out fish from scrapbook paper and hung it in the window.  I also put out my older boy's fish play set and "Go Fish" playing cards to entertain the guests.  This year we had the party catered too, it was such a good idea!
The cake!
The cake was a complete dream to make for once!!! No stress on this one.  I used three circle cake pans with different color batter in each.  In between each layer was orange marmalade... YUM!  The frosting recipe was from the back of a powder sugar package and it worked out perfect.  On the bottom I placed a row of Whoppers and Coco Pebbles.  The seaweed was made from green Fruit Roll-Ups.  I used different kinds of Goldfish to swim around the cake and edible pearls as their bubbles *magical*.  On the top of the cake I had a dock made from stick pretzels and sand from crushed Graham crackers.  As a finishing touch, I placed the cake on a stand made from a plate and a candle holder glued together.  It was so cute!
For the favor table we had a lot going on!  The signs were made from scrunched up and sanded scrapbook paper with kabob sticks glued to the back.  I packaged up bags of Goldfish and placed them in a tackle box labled "Catch of the Day".  We also had a bucket full of crushed up Oreos with gummy worms sticking out as our "Live Bait".  A smaller bucket held our feeder fish aka "Minnows".  We gave each guest a bag and let them load up!
Time for me to kick back and put up my feet!  I have until May of next year before I have to do another party :)  I hope you all like the details.  It sure was a blast.

I love him

Just popping in to say hi.
Ryker, my 5 year old, took theses photos the other day.  I really love them.  I never seem to have enough photos showing me with the kids so I treasure gems like these.
Can you believe he is TWO!  Ah, my little guy.  He is having a rough day.  Last night he puked all over his bed and hair.  Today his room smelled like a farm after his nap.  It was BAD.  Poor little guy, I have been washing bedding like crazy.
Hope your day is going better than his! Time for cuddles :)

Pleasantly Surprised

Lately, I have been including a free gift with every single order I receive.  I want to make everyone feel like they are opening up a gift when they get a package from me in the mail.  I have spent many nights playing around with my supplies trying to come up with something sweet that would work for this project.
I came up with this....

Aren't they all so cute lined up?!  These particular bow headbands are made from felt.  Maybe I will try fabric or even lace next... and maybe on a bobbie pin for the adults :)  SO many possibilities.  Yay for surprise freebie gifts!

Shake you groove thing... and a $1 giveaway!

I have been on a headband kick the past few nights.  My plan was to design a simple and sweet headband to include with each order from my shop... because everyone loves a little something extra... and I ended up unleashing a creative beast!!
What do you think about these cuties?
I was feeling a bit retro :)  They are all so sweet and dainty, great for a newborns tiny head.
You can find them HERE.

While making them I had a few extra supplies so I decided to do $1 giveaway.
I have a total of 5 to giveaway.  They are all in size 0-3 months and perfect for newborns.  The $1 covers the shipping cost and makes it so I don't have to "pick" a winner.  If you want to snag a headband you will see a Paypal button below each headband to checkout with.  I will ship the bands tomorrow via USPS first class mail. If the Paypal buttons are gone, the bands have been sold.
*Chocolate Chip is SOLD*

*Butterscoth is SOLD*
I will show you the cute gift headbands I came up with later!  I love them too.
Thanks for stopping by!

A little of this, a little of that.

Hi friends! Sorry it feels like I have been a little.. Ok a lot...  MIA the past few weeks.

I am super excited for the weekend!  My littlest guy turns TWO!  We have been planning a "Gone Fishin" party for him.  I told myself not to go all out this year but I couldn't help it.  There is a TON of cute stuff to be shown off soon... can't wait.

I also made a bunch of these little flowers and thought I would share.  I am using them in my packages for a cute little touch.
They are from a pack of pre-punched paper!  All I did was punch them out and glued em together.  They would be cute as a banner or other decoration around the house.  I got them at JoAnn in the scrapbook section.

I am SO excited to share these too!! I love them all so much.  They all remind me of some kind of vintage, whimsical daydream :)
Ahhhh so pretty!
Have a lovely weekend.  I will be back with birthday pictures. YAY!

A "DUH" moment!

I have several headbands like this that I have made for myself.  Usually when I put them on with straight hair they look silly to me.  Well, today I figured out why....
** Make sure you put the band part OVER your ears so that they are pinned down.  Otherwise, you look like you have huge ears poking out!
I LOVE it now and just thought I'd share the tip with you :)
I have some here too!
Have a happy day friends!
