Cowboy Party Details PART 2

Here is the last of the cowboy party fun. I think I went overboard with everything but your baby only turns one once. Enjoy!

Mustaches!
I made about 6 of these babies using black polymer clay and wooden dowels. They are such a fun photo prop! I was a little worried about the kids playing with them but I am happy to say they are ALL still in one piece! After I made them, I saw some made from felt… brilliant! I will have to try that out.

I had this sling shot and cans set out for the kids to knock down. I covered the cans with patterned paper… crazy I know. They are in the garbage now but hey, they were cute :)

I found these at the craft store for 10 cents! I simply added some hot glue and a pin to the back and all the kids got a badge.

For the “Thank You” bags I used scrapbook paper to decorate mini paper sacks, stamped thank you on them and filled them with trail mix.

The cake really turned out great and I was sooooo glad! I got the idea doing a search on Google. I used marshmallow fondant to cover the cakes in for the first time ever and it was AMAZING!! Seriously, it was so easy and it looks so good! The top tier was West’s cake. It was covered in frosting so he could dig into it.

Bandana Shirt Make n Take

This is the getup my little guy wore for his party. My hubby actually came up with the idea for the chaps! I didn’t do a tutorial for those but it is 2 pieces of felt over old jeans sewn down in several spots to keep them in place. Super cute!

Bandana Shirt Tutorial
I used a onesie for West’s bandana shirt but a t-shirt will work too.

Start by cutting off a corner of your bandana to make a triange.  After I cut my triangle out I hemmed the edges a little because I thought there was too much “plain” red showing and I wanted to see more of the design.

Fold the top edge over (for a lazy fast clean finish) and sew a gathering stitch.

Adjust your gathering stitch to fit across the neck of your shirt and pin down.  Sew it into place. I used a straight stitch but if you need more stretch you can use a zig zag stitch and it will allow for more stretch.

Fast, right!? I hope you liked the tutorial!

West loved the outfit but his favorite was still the natural birthday suit......... :)
Happy Wednesday!

Cowboy Party Details PART 1

The décor!
I made a ton of stuff for this kiddo’s birthday. I got the idea for a “cowboy” theme early so I had been collecting things for months. I did a search on Google and got a ton of ideas too. Most of this stuff I had so I didn’t have to spend a bunch of money… nice! Anyway, here are some of the details!
The finished invite.
I backed the photo on 2 pieces of cardstock to frame it and then used my sewing machine to stitch around the edge. In the envelope I also included a magnet (made with paper scraps, glass piece, magnet and Mod Podge) to hang it on the fridge with and a photo of West from every month leading up to his birthday.

This sign is made from scraps of paper with cardstock letters tacked on. I used my sewing machine to sew them all together leaving long ends to hang them up with. EASY

I got these wooden shapes for 10 cents so I had to make this little hanging deco to use them up :)

Table Centers.
I found these darling little vases at JoAnn for way cheap and filled them with fake daisies. The photo blocks are made from wood covered in Mod Podge and photos of West. Everyone loved these; it was a great way to show off extra photos. I also displayed his old baby boots and bone baby rattle we bought when he was tiny. Oh the memories!

Found this bail of hay and little roster at a thrift store!

We had a bucket of stick ponies for the little kids to ride.

The "Wanted" signs were from a party store. They were scattered all over the yard.

I made these “Lollies” using THIS tutorial. They are made from newspaper… you can’t get cheaper decorations than that!
I think that covers the decorations. I still have to show off the cake, outfit and other fun stuff later. We are off to the pool for now! Have a lovely Tuesday!

It has been TOO long

This time I am going to make excuses for not posting anything in FOREVER. On top of never feeling like I have enough time to get things done, I can’t load any pictures onto my computer right now. It is SO annoying. I have so much to show you all. I feel like a blog post isn’t complete without a photo so I am dying.
I received this photo the other day. I love how she is smiling... totally making my day.
Katie’s Little Miss

We just celebrated Mr. West's first birthday. It was a blast and I went crazy with everything having to do with it. I am so worn out but when I can get some pictures loaded I will definitely be showing you. I made a couple tutorials too :) I need to get this thing fixed!  Here is a sneak peek of the party fun...
The invite picture!

Lastly, I am going try out the $2 giveaway I have been promising. I have ONE “Addie" headband available in size newborn for the first person who grabs it. Shipping is included in the $2 so you don’t have to worry about that. I will be sharing more little “giveaways” like this in the future so keep your eyes open. If the “Buy it Now” button is gone (should be below the photo) this headband is sold out.
*Addie is SOLD*

I also just needed to say thank you, thank you, thank you for your continuing support and making me feel like a star. You rock.
I hope that worked! Talk to you all soon.
