Simple and Sweet V-Day Backdrop

I love doing themed photos of my boys.  When I saw this blog post I knew it would be perfect for a backdrop as well as decor.  I couldn't get the link to work for the actual post but if you go to her DIY section you will see it =)

It is pretty simple.  All you do is cut one inch strips from construction paper and staple them together.  I hung my heart chains on a rod in front of a white blanket and had my little man pose away.

I think theyturned out so sweet! They make the cutest deorations to hang around the house too.

Belly button high and the most I have worked out in over a year!

Anybody else a fan of belly button high thermals out there!?  Aren't they flattering ha ha =) Thermals mean that it SNOWED a few days ago and I had to drag my lazy butt out of the house to shovel.
I bet my neighbors get a kick out of watching me shovel.  I am so weak.  Shoveling is the closest thing to a "workout" that I have had in over a year.  My arms/shoulders are so sore now.  I make my 5 year old massage them... hit them.

I do have a great lil' helper pitching in.  Well, I should say walking all over the snow I need to shovel and packing it down, making it harder to scoop up. Ha ha.  He is great.

This kid is too much!

How to make a perfect kiss!

I figured this little trick out the other day when I took a few Valentine theme photos of West.  I knew i wanted to give him a few little pecks for this shot but my lipstick was just not looking too hot.  Lipstick kisses can get kind of sticky and you never know how they are going to turn out
I discovered you can totally use a stamp and red marker to create a FABULOUS kiss :)
Simply color your lip stamp and press on check.  You can wash it off easily too.  My stamp is from the $1 bin at Joann's.

Gosh I love that face!
XOXO

My Vintage Valentines

Last year I saw some darling vintage valentine cards on THIS blog post.  I imidently went searching for my own.  I have seen them on Etsy and Ebay.  I purchased mine from Many Happy Returns.  I almost didn't get them.  My stupid self forgot to change the address on my Etsy accont when I moved. Eventually they found thier way back to the seller.  She was so sweet to contact me send them out again.  I didn't get them until April so I am super excited to have them up this year.
Oh my, please don't notice the lightbulb hanging form my ceiling in the above photo! I am getting around to it =)

I wasn't quite sure how to display them.  I was thinking about doing a garland with them.  I don't have a ton of decor for Valentines day so I decided to fill my little wall cutout with them.
I used clothespins to hold them up.  To give the pins a bit of color I used a mix of water and red acrylic paint.  I love how they turned out.  I will tell you they aren't super sturdy... if a wind blew in they would propbaly fall to the floor.  It works for now.

I want more.
Happy Sunday!

Peak into my brain... and messy room!

I am feeling all sorts of inspired today. I have been jotting down notes in my little book all day long.  My brain feels as busy as this photo.  A little messy and crowded... just waiting patiently to be put in their place or made into something amazing =)
It's a good feeling, I just hope I can keep up with all of it.
I also posted this odd photo because it's a little outtake of a new small venture I want to step into.  Nothing major, just something I have wanted to blog about for over a year now.  I am excited to start tomorrow.
Can't wait to share.

Bunkin' the Boys

One of my goals this year is to start decorating this house and making it a home.  I am starting with the boys bedroom.  I have a good idea of what I want the room to look like so I am hunting for all the little details now :)
First off beds.... check!
I started my bunk bed search a few days ago.  I have a problem with making up my mind.  It was such a hard decision!  I looked all around and finally decided on a pine color bed.  I bought a bunk bed I *thought* was the color like they had on display, took it home and opened the box to find a cherry color.  Grrrr!  That particular bed went right back to the store.  I ended up getting a blue set instead.
I'm still getting use to seeing it in the room.  Going from a toddler bed to bunks is quite the change!

I think my boys were more excited about the boxes the beds came in then the beds.  I let them color and make "roads" on the huge boxes....

Now I am trying to decide on the perfect comforter and sheets set for them.  That is proving to be a difficult search too!

Quick Party Hats

How did these babies almost escape my bloggy mind?
Ok, so this isn't really my idea.  I found the idea via Ruche.

Can you say simple!?  I did mine with some scrapbook paper and crepe paper I had on hand.  I used a lot more hot glue then sewing.  All I used my sewing machine for was to gather the ruffle, which was made from cheap crepe paper.  It worked like a charm too!

I made these hats for New Years Eve. We had a little day party with some cousins =)
I *might* just have to make me one for my birthday next month!

V-Day Sweets!

 {Luv Bug}

Ahh you can probably see what is happening here.  I had  a lot of time on my hands to blog when I took a little Christmas vacation from the shop.  Now the shop is open again and it is back to hectic, no time too spare, days.  I love it though, it makes me feel good to be crazy busy sometimes.
During the Christmas vacation I was busy working on new designs for Valentines day.  I sometimes look forward to changing seasons solely for the design options!! So much fun to play with holiday ideas. Here are a few I came up with... straight from the heart :)

Eeeeek! Now you all have your dose of newborn sweetness for the day.  Huge THANKS to  Lisa Slate Photography for all the sweet photos.   Isn't she fabulous!
Do I dare tell you there is more new goodies for spring? I have been having WAY too much fun playing with hats the past few weeks.
Hope the year is off to a great start for you as well :)

Our Elves were silly! {Part One}

Here are some photos of what our very own Bernard and Barnaby did in December.  The boys LOVE waking up to see what crazy things their friends did during the night.  It is going to be tough to think of new ideas next year.

Caught sneaking candy.

Coloring (only in red and green of course!)

Dish tower and message on the mirror.

Surprise present with a tiny note and bow.

Sailing in the sink.
 Toilet paper tree!

Riding on the train.
Reading Christmas books.

I will share the rest of the photos tomorrow :)
