Cherry Trick

The other night Ryker wanted to "invent" a new dessert for us to try.  He had me place 3 or so cherries at the bottom of a sugar cone and then top it off with ice cream and a couple more cherries.

His idea actually seemed to be very helpful for our little West.
EVERY TIME time I give this kid an ice cream cone I say "eat it from the top".  He never listens.  First thing he does is takes a hunk right off the bottom.  This leads to a melty, dripping mess of stickiness.

Not this time.  Ryker's cherry concoction saved us......

The cherries acted like a plug.  No messy drips here.

He may have been a sticky mess all over his face and hands but hey, at least the ice cream wasn't pouring out the bottom like usual =)

Thank you Ryker for our new cherry trick!

Happy Sunday. I'm linking up here today...

Camping Trip

We recently set out on a camping adventure!
It was a nice camping trip... the kind with indoor pottys and showers.  We were also spoiled with a cute cabin to sleep in, a warm pool to play in and even a hot tub to skinny dip in... k not really the skinny dippin' part =)
It was a ton of fun to say the least!  Well, except for the part where I took a wrong turn on the way home and went clear the heck in the opposite direction of where I needed to go.  Ugh.  Someone needs a GPS for Christmas me thinks.

Anyways, my parents were nice enough to let me and the boys crash their cabin for a few days.  It was the perfect escape to relax a bit and recharge the batteries.  I even managed to start a scrap afghan while up there.  I might not ever finish it but hey I did start it.  It is awfully cute.  I do hope one day I will be able to show it off to you.

I whipped out my camera A LOT while we were there, as you can tell!  I didn't want to miss a thing. I absolutely love all these photos.  I couldn't decide on which ones to post so I just made a ton of collages on ipiccy so I could post a bunch.

The funnest thing we did there would have to be the swimming.  We all loved playing in the water and lounging on the deck.  My boys are fish just like I use to be.
I loved watching my dad and Ryker in the upper left photo.  My dad took me on rides just like that on his back when I was little =)

I want to go back already.  This work stuff is overrated =)

Manic Monday

Our "vintage circus" party was a success!  I am WORN out from the planning, preparing and the actual party. When will I learn to take it easy?? At least we had fun and that is all that counts... well that and that it was SOOOO cute! I will share all the fun details soon.

Our party was in Wyoming.  I just got home this morning and all I have done today is unpack and clean.  Ugh sooo much cleaning up and organizing to do.  I do think there was a 3 hour nap mixed in there to and that is crazy because I hate taking naps!  I must really be tired.
Now that all that madness is done I am jumping right back into the sea of baby hats.  I am pretty excited though.  It is time to design Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas hats! Crazy hu!  I have had so many request already for Rudolph hats.  I better get my butt moving.
I just wanted to pop in and say hi before my fingers were wrapped up in yarn =)
I hope you had a fun weekend!  I can't believe July is almost over!

Oooops... I thought I had my nose centered in the right spot ha ha.  My two year old did it better than me!  Sheesh!
Goodnight friends!

Dear West,

Dear West,
Today marks your third birthday.  Today we celebrate YOU!  Three years have flown by since you entered this world.  You have learned so much and have grown to be so big.  You are one amazing little  man.  You are smart, charming and sweet.  You are the exact definition of a "boy"... I'm sure of it!  You are always dirty, you love anything with wheels and you are super noisy.
You bring so much joy and light not only to my life, but to Ryker's, daddy's and the rest of our family as well.  You make me smile and laugh everyday just by being you.  I am so happy that you are mine and that I get to kiss those handsome cheeks whenever I want.
I hope you had a fabulous birthday today.  My wish for you is that the years to come will be filled with wonder, happiness and many adventures!
I "yud" you Westies.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Love,
Mom
p.s.  Here is a special song just for you =)

Aiden Turns the big O.N.E.!

I had the pleasure of snapping some photos of my friends little man to celebrate his first birthday.  You might remember his sweet face from THIS post.  Oh my how he has grown.  His little teeth are to die for don't ya think?

He obviously loves his little snuggle blanket.  I kept trying to hide it from him ha.

His mama was singing to him here.  It was the cutest thing ever.  He was so happy just listening to her.

This was my first attempt at a "cake smash".  I am pretty pleased with the results.  I used some wrapping paper from Target for the background.  It sure did turn out cute.

Oh man, these letters were the hardest.  His mom made them so I really wanted to get it right.  Aiden wanted nothing to do with them at first.  He hated that "o"!  I'm happy we got something.

I can't wait till more of my friends have babies so I can play photographer with them =)

Snuffaluffagus

Some days I am quite certain Sesame Street sent me my very own Sunuffaluffagus............

Needless to say, those lashes make me swoon!

Happy Sunday friends =)  Today I am busy preparing a circus party for the little man above... one week and counting!  I don't have much in the works so far.  I have the ideas, I just need to get them all organized and created! It is going to be pretty fabulous I hope... think "vintage circus".  Eeek, so many cute possibilities!

Look Mom, I'm a booger!

A month or so ago we went with Grandma and my sister to the Dinosaur Museum.  They have all kinds of things to see and do there.  The kids were never bored.

I'm usually a little nervous these days to go on outings with family because my children always have major meltdowns when things don't go their way.  It makes me really want to loose my cool when the screaming and craziness starts.  I swear when it is just me and them they behave for the most part.
There were meltdowns on this day but all and all it was a fun adventure and I have a few cute photos to prove it =)

Is it me or is this joke really not that funny!?
Ha, they really wanted their photo taken in it so I did... mostly to avoid another meltdown with my son ;)  He can make me so mad but then 5 minutes later sit in a dinosaurs skull and say "Look Mom, I'm a booger!" and my anger fades away.....
I am happy he is mine =)

Ooo I also started documenting our summer on this outing with my Instax camera!  I really LOVE this little camera.  I am a bit scared to take it out and about but I am slowly getting over that.  For some reason those tiny photographs seem very special to me... maybe it is because there is only one copy or maybe because they are about 75 cents a pop!!
I am planning on making a real scrapbook with the photos.  I haven't had the time to scrapbook in years so I am pretty excited about it.   I will share when I get around to it =)

A few parade favorites...

This forth of July we went to a parade with some family.  It was nice to sit back and watch the kiddos excitement.  My mom was smart and brought a bag full of old candy.  We would throw it out to the kids from behind when they weren't looking.  They had no clue it was coming from us.  Ha, it was pretty hilarious.
And on a side note, when did princesses start coming to parades!?  It was like we were at Disneyland! So, so cute. I bet they were a huge hit!  My niece got a hug from Cinderella... pretty darn adorable =)  I have no clue where they were even from but I would totally be on board to dress up like a princess and walk around making kids beam!  Hmmm I wonder where I can apply at.

Happy Sunday.  I'm linking up here--
