Git R' Done

It seems like I always have a long, ongoing list of projects to do around the house.  It is never ending.

The other day I was in the mood to get a few done!

This mirror was first.  I recently repainted the frame and it was seriously just sitting on the floor for weeks.  I am happy to report it is up on the wall, hanging happily!

Next was a pile of necklaces that needed to be fixed.  There was  about 10 necklaces that I haven't been able to wear because they just needed one little ring to make them wearable again.  YAY for new jewelry!

Check out my new headboard I scored for $10.  Yes, it might fall on me in the middle of the night and smash me because I miraculously managed to attach it myself.  Who knows how well I did at that job... so far it seems to be holding up =)

Next is this sucker.  The boys need a new dresser SO bad.  They have been using the one I bought 6 years ago for Ryker from Walmart.  It sucks.  The entire top drawer is missing ha.  So tacky!
This baby has been sitting in the shed all summer.  I have stripped all the paint off and I just need to finish it!  I am to indecisive on a the color to paint it though.  It feels like such a "permanent" choice... partly because there is no way I am going to go and strip it again!! It is a good and sturdy dresser though and I adore the big handles.
Hopefully I will get to show you it all cute and finished soon!

Sweet Dreams

Um, need I say anything?
I just received this darling image from Ella Bella Photography this afternoon and I am in love.  I had to share it here.  If it makes me happy to look at, I am sure it will work on your eyes too =)  So, so darling. I am excited to add this to the shop alongside my other versions of the "Dumpling" hat....

Photos c/o Lisa Slate Photography and Jennie Pyfferoen Photography.

Hmm now I feel sleepy.  These darn cute dreaming babies!
I hope you all "sleep like a baby" tonight he he.

Snips and Snails

My boys love to catch and play with snails.  They swing with them, ride their bikes with them and occasionally and unfortunately, Westy will smash them.  Ugh, that always makes a nice mess to clean off the concrete.

On this day I was just about to tell the kids to get in the car when I saw my photo op.  I grabbed the camera and snapped a few photos before we had to leave.
The first two are my favorites.  I love how West has so much wonder and amazement.  On Ryker's, I think that little tiny snail is too cute.

It's a hairy business....

Yesterday I cut fur.  A whole lotta fur.

This a job that must be done outside.  Of course I picked an extremely hot and miserable day to do it.  I was sweating, hair bits were clinging to me, flies were living on me and I got my fair share of hair inhaled as well as in the eye.  It was quite the job.  I am happy it is over for now and that I have a good stock pile to use up =)
To me it looks like some furry creature was attacked or died on the lawn after I get done shaking out every single piece.....

If your curious, these furry flap pieces will be used for hats like this and this.  I plan on coming out with a new one this year.  I am thinking a light blue this time around.  Last years "Hunter" hat was so popular I ran out of supplies for it.  I loved that hat...

OH and while I was working, my very own little artist was working on his own masterpiece... in the nude (I assume that helps his creative process).

 Goodnight =)

Goofball and Lollipop Cookies

Hello and happy Sunday =)
I failed at snapping new photos this week.. what the heck!?  But, I did find this one among all the birthday photos I have from West's party.  It called to me.  This is classic West.  That lil' lippy turned down and hiding from the camera... don't let him fool you he is just being silly.  He is trying his best to make it a challenge for me to get a photo of him.  Little does he know this is what I look for.  Those non-posed pictures that show the real story.  I win again Westy.

On a side note, that cute lollipop cookie in the photo was super easy to make (after one failed trial run).
I got the idea from Pinterest HERE and I used the recipe from HERE.  I don't think they tasted that hot but they sure were adorable!

Hi Ho Hi Ho....

back to work I go......

I have just completed some new cuteness for Halloween. I am sooo excited to add these babies to the shop soon. I'm holding out on a full photo of them because I want to show them off on a sweet baby head =)  I really think they are pretty awesome.

Other than work we have been playing outside... a lot.

Don't you love how in the summertime you can just tell the kids go play outside... and they will... like all day long... ? I love it.  I crack the window so I can listen for screams and carry on inside.  This might be a problem when winter comes along.  No more sending kids outside.  Eeek, what will I do?

Also, my pretty sunflowers are in full bloom and although the are pretty they are so annoying now.  The leaves are seriously humongous and block my little pathway from the driveway to the backyard.  They might have to go soon.  One leaf almost blinded me the other day.  It felt like it sliced my eyeball open. Now when I walk through there I close my eyes. Ha.

I hope you have a fun weekend.  Tomorrow is our city carnival, parade and fireworks.  Should be fun =)

Cherry Trick

The other night Ryker wanted to "invent" a new dessert for us to try.  He had me place 3 or so cherries at the bottom of a sugar cone and then top it off with ice cream and a couple more cherries.

His idea actually seemed to be very helpful for our little West.
EVERY TIME time I give this kid an ice cream cone I say "eat it from the top".  He never listens.  First thing he does is takes a hunk right off the bottom.  This leads to a melty, dripping mess of stickiness.

Not this time.  Ryker's cherry concoction saved us......

The cherries acted like a plug.  No messy drips here.

He may have been a sticky mess all over his face and hands but hey, at least the ice cream wasn't pouring out the bottom like usual =)

Thank you Ryker for our new cherry trick!

Happy Sunday. I'm linking up here today...

Camping Trip

We recently set out on a camping adventure!
It was a nice camping trip... the kind with indoor pottys and showers.  We were also spoiled with a cute cabin to sleep in, a warm pool to play in and even a hot tub to skinny dip in... k not really the skinny dippin' part =)
It was a ton of fun to say the least!  Well, except for the part where I took a wrong turn on the way home and went clear the heck in the opposite direction of where I needed to go.  Ugh.  Someone needs a GPS for Christmas me thinks.

Anyways, my parents were nice enough to let me and the boys crash their cabin for a few days.  It was the perfect escape to relax a bit and recharge the batteries.  I even managed to start a scrap afghan while up there.  I might not ever finish it but hey I did start it.  It is awfully cute.  I do hope one day I will be able to show it off to you.

I whipped out my camera A LOT while we were there, as you can tell!  I didn't want to miss a thing. I absolutely love all these photos.  I couldn't decide on which ones to post so I just made a ton of collages on ipiccy so I could post a bunch.

The funnest thing we did there would have to be the swimming.  We all loved playing in the water and lounging on the deck.  My boys are fish just like I use to be.
I loved watching my dad and Ryker in the upper left photo.  My dad took me on rides just like that on his back when I was little =)

I want to go back already.  This work stuff is overrated =)

Manic Monday

Our "vintage circus" party was a success!  I am WORN out from the planning, preparing and the actual party. When will I learn to take it easy?? At least we had fun and that is all that counts... well that and that it was SOOOO cute! I will share all the fun details soon.

Our party was in Wyoming.  I just got home this morning and all I have done today is unpack and clean.  Ugh sooo much cleaning up and organizing to do.  I do think there was a 3 hour nap mixed in there to and that is crazy because I hate taking naps!  I must really be tired.
Now that all that madness is done I am jumping right back into the sea of baby hats.  I am pretty excited though.  It is time to design Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas hats! Crazy hu!  I have had so many request already for Rudolph hats.  I better get my butt moving.
I just wanted to pop in and say hi before my fingers were wrapped up in yarn =)
I hope you had a fun weekend!  I can't believe July is almost over!

Oooops... I thought I had my nose centered in the right spot ha ha.  My two year old did it better than me!  Sheesh!
Goodnight friends!
